Advocacy

Our team offers high quality advocacy and strategic land use expertise to our clients. Our multidisciplinary approach provides us with a high-level understanding of planning, civil and water engineering, and the scope of issues that affect the urban design outcomes for sites and large strategic areas.

Our process begins with a comprehensive review of all background information and advice that we interpret to provide high quality, place-based outcomes for our clients.

Feasibility and due diligence

We prepare due diligence advice to assist in the feasibility and acquisition phase of works. We pride ourselves on being a trusted industry advisor and work closely with our clients and authorities. This ensures we understand opportunities and risks to deliver certainty to the team in order to achieve successful projects.

While the nature and extent of due diligence is tailored to suit each project, our process seeks to ‘hit the mark’ by identifying key issues, understanding client priorities and designing concept options. This ensures that our clients are well informed to make appropriate decisions in the early phases of the project life-cycle.

Structure and development plans

Structure planning for urban and greenfield areas provides certainty for a locale that can guide development without compromising the character of an area. Our approach to structure planning is always evidence based with robust objectives that are tested to withstand scrutiny from planning panels, the community, government stakeholder and landowners projections for a precinct.

We represent our clients through structure planning processes utilising VPA standards and approaches.

Master planning

We combine analysis of the policy, planning and physical issues with a practical understanding of financial, cost and phasing implications to best meet our clients’ objectives. With a focus on design excellence, we are supported by a breadth of multidisciplinary skills and technical expertise to design sustainable places in balance with community aspirations.

Urban design frameworks

Spiire has extensive experience in the preparation of town centre urban design frameworks and master planning in primarily greenfield settings.

Our approach is to use a site-responsive approach to create sustainable, functional and exciting places focused on generating a high-quality public realm and street life. This process is evidence based, using analysis and data of the key drivers including land use, built form, public spaces and the way people move around.

Development delivery strategy

We work with our clients and development partners to prepare easy to understand strategies for long-term delivery of their sites. We balance often conflicting priorities of marketing, sales and engineering to provide long-term delivery and major infrastructure development and staging for sites. These are prepared in simple language that can be understood by all audiences from boards to council.
