Town planning services

Due diligence

Our experienced team of town planners are able to provide expert due diligence advice, site identification and evaluation to support acquisitions and development concepts.

While the nature and extent of due diligence is tailored to suit each project, our process seeks to ‘hit the mark’ by identifying key issues and understanding client priorities. This ensures that our clients are well informed to make appropriate decisions in the early phases of the project life-cycle.

Statutory planning

Our team secure planning approvals and supporting documentation for our clients across property and infrastructure projects, with recent experience across residential, industrial, retail, renewable energy and health projects.

We are often involved in the entire project life-cycle from initial discussions with government agencies to complying with planning conditions.

Strategic planning

We regularly facilitate the process to amend or set the long-term direction within planning controls. Our team are often involved in the preparation and review of applications to amend relevant planning scheme controls, including structure plans and infrastructure contribution plans.

We are engaged by both private clients, to represent their interests in the planning scheme amendment process, and by local Councils to manage the process on behalf of the Council. Our extensive experience allows us to deliver strategic planning outcomes for residential, industrial, retail and infrastructure projects.

Project facilitation

Our team are experts at leading consultant teams throughout the planning approvals process to ensure our client’s project objectives are realised in the most efficient manner.

Bushfire management

A number of our town planners have completed specialist training to undertake bushfire assessments, with a combined experience of more than 20 years. Bushfire planning is an important aspect to many of our projects. Consideration of bushfire constraints early in the design process is crucial, particularly when planning residential developments in bushfire risk areas.

Spiire prepares Bushfire Management Statements for a variety of developments, with a strong focus on residential, industrial, commercial, tourism, health, education and renewable energy projects.

Stakeholder engagement

We support our clients through the community and stakeholder consultation process. We liaise with local communities, technical experts, local Councils, service authorities and State and Federal Government. We tailor each stakeholder engagement strategy to the specific needs of the project and ensure this meets best practice guidelines.

Our approach provides effective engagement to deliver successful projects for our clients and the community.

VCAT, Planning Panel, P&E Court advocacy

Our town planners advocate on behalf of private and government clients throughout Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (VCAT) and Planning Panel processes. We also prepare expert witness reports and provide evidence in the Planning and Environment (P&E) Court in Queensland.
