Since launching in 2018, we’ve built a passionate team of consultants who enjoy a strong sense of community and rewarding work delivering landmark projects in the ACT and surrounding regions.

It’s one of 10 offices in the Spiire network, which also spans Victoria, New South Wales, Queensland and South Australia. With more than 350 staff working across eight integrated disciplines, we’re one of the country’s largest employee-owned property and infrastructure consultants, offering our people exceptional opportunities for career progression.

Our multidisciplinary team works together to deliver holistic solutions for a broad range of property and infrastructure projects, drawing on a wide base of complementary technical expertise.

Business Manager Jonathon Boyd was part of the original team that launched the Canberra office, joining the business after a diverse career spanning construction, landscape design and engineering consulting.

“Spiire’s values just aligned with what I’d been looking for over many years,” he says. “It was refreshing to see the trust that was there from day one.”

From the start, Jonathon found the support from the wider Spiire business allowed him to focus on his clients and delivering local projects.

“The roadblocks are just not there, so you can run with what makes you enjoy your job,” he says.

Stepping into the Business Manager role in 2023, Jonathon is supported by General Manager of NSW & ACT Max Bomben in leading the team of more than 30 consultants who live and work in the ACT.

Fellow founding member of the Canberra office, Senior Associate civil engineer Benjamin Cargill, says the people who form the close-knit Canberra team are what sets it apart.

“We have created that environment that’s not all about work. We do work hard but we make it an enjoyable place where people can learn a lot and have a good time doing it,” he says.

Ben says when the opportunity to join Spiire Canberra arose several years ago, the challenge of kickstarting a new consultancy was too appealing to pass up. Now the office is fully fledged, he finds satisfaction in working with the team he helped build from the ground up.

“Seeing the people we hired progress is really rewarding for me,” he says. “It’s a hand-picked team, not only for their skillsets but also their personalities.”
